Underrated gem in Kensington
Fantastic space to stay right in the heart of Kensington. Warm and spacious London hotel well worth a repeat stay.
Nice furnished apartment. Clean, centrally located and staff was very professional
We had a wonderful 3 nights. The staff were very kind, helpful and welcoming. The location is excellent, close to transport and dining out. It felt safe to walk the local area. Was an easy flat walk from Hyde Park via Harrods. Look forward to our next visit.
130 Queens Gate was excellent - very gracious, accommodating staff. Also a very quiet neighbourhood with numerous restaurants in walking distance (quite a bit of Italian, and decent quality). Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Palace are also within walking distance, and if you want to walk a bit further, so is Harrod's Department Store, and even Buckingham Palace.
There is a terrible smell out of the shower water. Really hope the hotel becomes aware of the problem and sort it out, because we really like it otherwise.
We will return
Excellent South Ken location, responsive service, comfortable and well kept rooms and facilities.
Ease of transportation, great location, plenty of restaurants, nice and welcoming staff
Great choice for a stay in Central London. Super apartments would be ideal for a family trip.
visitors from Sydney the property suited our needs .We had a 1 bedroom on the 3rd floor ,spacious ,kitchenette was handy with cereal ,tea coffee provided .Nice touch .Washer/dryer with pods for washing .Hairdryer was amazing for thick hair .The location was very good close to transport all around .Restaurants ,cafes nearby .Staff were excellent & very helpful . thank you .
Kind services
Great/Helpful staff and good location near the London Underground/walk to Hyde Park, Museums, etc. However all furnishings were dirty/worn out and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. We packed light and planned to use the in room washer/dryer - but the dryer did not work well and it took over 2 hours to dry a small load. Additionally, the fan in the bathroom did not work and if we opened the door to let the steam out it set off some kind of alarm resulting in a phone call or knock on the door from hotel staff. Finally, there was LOUD noise (yelling, banging, stomping, music blasting, etc.) most nights until 1:00am or 2:00am. Not really sure but it seemed to come from other hotel guests either above us or in the courtyard below. We would not recommend this hotel and we certainly expected more for the price.
Great location. Great apartment. Very clean.
Hotel apartment is it walking distance to the natural history, Museum, Victorian and I’ll be museums and other London attractions. Restaurant and shopping close by.
Great place in London
Always come back here
This property was an apartment. Fully fitted kitchen, w/d combination, large living room, spa tub/shower, large bedroom with plenty of stirage
All good i liked the place .
misleading option based on the wrong pictures. apartment condition was bad. cleaning was limited to 3 days a week. some of the staff did not want to inform me that i can pay extra and get more cleaning. some of the staff were nice but one lady was rude and not helpful
This used to be a very comfortable and safe option for families but for some reason they stoped upgrading their furniture. Even the executive apartment is decaying and the furniture got old. Change your furniture. Keep up with the competition. Create a value equivalent to your expensive rates
We enjoyed our stay!
The location is really good, but the apartments are tatty and worn, especially as you're paying a premium price.
Fabulous! Staff excellent and attentive. Location superb. Will be staying again.
Great location spacious apartments reasonable prices 3 times a week how's cleaning 24 hour front desk service. Matthew in particular was great
Fantastic
Bedroom/sitting area in studio apartment somewhat crowded for two adults. Otherwise, apartment was fine.
Wonderful stay for a family. Great location with restaurants, grocery, coffee shop and Underground station all very close. Beautiful walking neighborhood. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious for our family of 4. It was very nice having the kitchen and separate living room and we never heard any noise from other rooms/hallway. The only thing is book enough beds for your party. The rollaway bed is not great and was very uncomfortable for a 12-year-old. Maybe a very small child can get away with it.
The apartment was large and spacious with a full stove, dishwasher and washing machine. There was lots of cupboard and wardrobe space and a large selection of tv channels. The fabric on the couch, chairs and cushions was slightly shabby and needs replacing but the apartment suited us very well for a 4 week stay. The reception staff, particularly Virgil, were very pleasant, helpful and went out of their way to help.
Good location. Near major museums and lots of dining options. In an upper class area. Propert is older. Housekeeping is not daily which we weren't aware of. So that was a bummer. In one of washrooms the sink drain was missing. Soaps very small and at one point we were told only first day the soap was complimentary but later they updated their file and all was ok. Very friendly front desk
The apartment has a good size and is clean and quiet, the staff was polite and helpful, and the neighborhood is really great. Restaurants, cafes and the subway are close. However it is extremely dated and the view is beyond disappointing. If what you are looking for is a great experience this is not your place. If you don’t care much about the stay, this is a good option.
We stayed in a studio that was spacious and enabled both of us to work. The front desk people were, all of them, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The place is superbly located, next to the Natural History Museum, but in a surprisingly quiet street. There were a lot of restaurants and pubs within walking distance, not to mention supermarkets and such. Would definitely stay there again.
Amazing helpful and cheerful staff. Excellent location with good transport access and plenty of dining and shopping around. Spacious flat with all basic needs in a very good condition. Very clean and prompt services if needed 24/7. Safe with high security and excellent covid precaution measures.
It was a very pleasant experience would stay again
The property is in excellent location. Comfortable. Clean. The staff are by far the best I have seen; incredibly proactive, quick to respond with solutions and very courteous and friendly.
On arrival the first appartment was completely different to the description on Expedia. I was moved to another appartment after complaining, this was also a different appartment in comparison to the photos but bigger than the first appartment. I was told this is the same appartment booked just different style. The host informed me that he will come back to me the following day of moving me into a better appartment but this did not happen and was never passed on to the next staff. While I was in the appartment I noticed a blanket that had a very bad odour smell, the appartment was very dusty, dirty and unhygienic. There was stool stain on the side of the toilet and there was no cleaning products provided so I could not even remove it myself. The air conditioning and the heating was not functioning correctly I informed the receptionist and I was being told someone will come out the next day but nobody ever did. I asked for a fan and I was told to leave the windows open and I then experienced bugs crawling and flying in I was starting to feel very uncomfortable and I also had enough of making complaints. The washing machine was also not working which damaged my clothes but the host tried to blame this on me and then took my clothes for laundry service for the inconvenience. The curtains were dirty and stained and the bed was defect but this was also denied by the host stating it is the style.
Staff were very helpful
Very friendly front desk staff! Did everything to make us feel welcome!
Easy access to transportation . Staff are very friendly
It was my second stay at this location but this time they charged my card a security deposit to be returned after check out. They promised it will be returned next Monday after my stay but never they did. Sorry to say that but it is annoying.
Amazing property in the middle of Hyde Park. Amazing restaurants primarily Italian all over the place. Great staff super friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms are very spacious and very clean and functional. Really enjoyed our stay. Good morn
Our new favorite in London
130 Queens Gate was perfect for our 5-day stay! It is located in Kensington, one block from the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum. A grocery store and many restaurants are located within easy walking distance. The apartment is fully stocked and there were breakfast biscuits and cereals and coffee, which was nice each day. We are happy we have found our new favorite place to stay in London!
Compared to our 2016 stay (one-bedroom), the hotel (1 studio and one-bedroom) apartments in 2019 are worn. Room lighting is poor; overhead noise disrupted our sleep. The Manager was quick to respond to our issues and accommodated (with no increase in rate) our relocation request; cleaning and reception staff are friendly but foreign and struggle to help with recommendations for eating places, directions etc. The location is excellent—close to bus stops, Kensington underground and sights.
Heater need to be fixed. 2 days out of five days the heater is not working
Very spacious accommodation, but no view from the windows because the unit was in the basement of the building.
Nice place, helpful pleasant staff. Only negative--I was annoyed that the room seemed half the size of the photos. Not really justifying the description "studio".
Very nice, good value, clean
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. My only complaint as reflected in my Fair Condition rating was that the sofa was stained and in need of replacement. The rest of the room was very well maintained and clean. I would also recommend they put curved shower rods over the tub to give more room in the narrow space. Location is great! Easy to walk to tons of restaurants.
The property is in a very good location. Convenient and central!
No vanity to allow room for bathroom essentials. No outlet for hairdryer in bathroom. Drain plug for tub defective. Bathtub water not available. Dishwasher ran for hours not shutting off.
The stay is fabulous. The staff working there are fantastic. They all very polite and helpful. I will definitely go back again.
Good location, great service, spacious and clean, good kitchen and groceries nearby
Excellent position. Helpful staff on reception. Shower in main bathroom was in need of repair. Main bedroom & bathroom very small but nicely appointed. Suggest addition of a small portable line to hang clothes on to dry
The service was amazing and the hotel is gorgeous. The property is spotless. I had a studio and it was huge with a separate kitchen and tiny foyer. Beautifully decorated. The location is excellent - 5 minutes from South Kensington tube station and ten minutes from the museums. I’d walk to Chelsea because it was faster than taking the tube. The front desk staff is friendly, gracious, helpful, and professional. I’ll stay here again!
Amazing staff
Nice and clean and everything near to u Staff was amazing
Spacious
Stayed as part of a vacation. Easy walk to South Kensington tube stop and many restaurants.
We loved the area. Very convenient and quiet. The apartment very well equipped. The bedrooms are quite small and it looked more appealing on the pictures than in real life. The staff were great. (Loved the big white towels and the bathrobes )
Deposit should not take several days to refund. If you’re going to hold deposit, you should refund it immediately on the credit card.
Location is very good. Upscale neighborhood with many attractions, subway and restaurants within walking distance. Apartment was clean and well maintained. Third bedroom and washer dryer a bit small. I’d stay here again.
Great location, nice friendly staff, our room was large but shabby.
Everything about this apartment hotel was excellent. The rooms were lovely, kitchen well appointed, very comfortable. The location was wonderful- museums, restaurants, transportation all nearby.
Great location, friendly staff, nice apartment. 100%.
Great Location in South Kensington
We've stayed in the South Kensington area before, but this was our first time staying in one of the 130 Queen's Gate Apartments. We arrived earlier than the 3:00 check-in time, and were pleasantly surprised that they had upgraded us to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with a balcony, and allowed us to check-in early. The apartment was great and a better value than getting 2 rooms in any of the nearby hotels, especially with the kitchen and living room where we could hang out and relax as a family during downtime. Housekeeping was great, and the rest of the staff were very helpful with bringing our luggage to and from the apartment, holding our luggage after we checked out and headed out for lunch, and in arranging transportation to the airport to accommodate all of our luggage! Would definitely stay here again.
Great location in Kensington! Very nice front desk staff. Some units could be updated they are looking a little tired.
Will be back
Excellent apartment and location. Very friendly and professional staff. The only negative was the outdoor noise level. Fortunately it is not a busy street but the windows could do with better soundproofing. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper!
Definitely not a 5 star facility!!!
Staff was excellent . ... Very helpful Very accommodating. Great Attitude
Great apartment. Got an upgrade from a studio to a one-bedroom apartment. Very spacious with air-conditioning. Excellent value for money with central location, nice neighbourhood. Will return.
Nice location , service Everything was perfect ..
Wonderful apartment perfect for a group of four. Plenty of space and bathroom was large enough to share, with a half bath included. Kitchen amenities were plenty, wish they would have restocked them during cleaning every day, we had to ask twice for coffee but other than that, the housekeeping was nice. Air conditioning worked great. Only downside were the beds, the mattresses were quite hard but that is something I can live with. Overall would highly recommend the apartments
Love this place; will come back!
We brought our toddler on our trip so we were looking for a spacious room with kitchen. This place was perfect for our needs. Hotel locates at a very cute and safe neighborhood. 5 min walk to a major subway station with multiple line access. The only thing I had made complaint about was that even though it was a non-smoking room, the room smelt like cigar.
Modern and spacious apartment
Great location with modern and full amenities. Good value for its location and facilities. Efficient and friendly reception staffs who tried best to accommodate our requests
Queens gate
Very nice apartment Good location near tube
Generally a fine place, but the photos oversell it by a lot. Apartment was fine, but small, quite dark, and showed serious wear and tear in some places. They should be more honest about what the units look like instead of using photos of what I expect is a select few units that look the best.
A very nice hotel
It’s a very nice stay! I’ve stayed in 130 Queen’s Gate Apartment for 12 nights. I’ve no complaint for that and will definitely stay there again next time I go to London. The service is excellent. The location is perfect. The room is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped.
Great alternative to a hotel room!
Perfect location, spacious apartment and very helpful staff made this an incredible place to stay during our visit to London. Were were given suggestions for restaurants, shops and closest stations. A bit pricey, but I used credits for free nights, which made it very affordable. And don’t be put off by the description of the apartment as a basement apartment. There were full height windows, with lots of light. Plus, the workout room was just steps away!
I rented a studio with my sister and it was spacious, clean and very convenient to restaurants and shopping. Would recommend this property to anyone traveling to London.
Great location ! Good costumer service and very friendly staffing
This place is amazing! Very clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is also great!
Fantastic 1BR apartment in a great location!
This apartment was just what I was looking for! 1 bedroom, with a very spacious living room. Small but perfectly functional kitchen and a good sized bathroom. Bedroom: Plenty of cupboard space. Large room with TV. Bed was enormous and super comfortable. Living room: Extra large with a couch, 2 armchairs, and dining table with 4 chairs. Great entertainment system with plenty of cable channels. Functional desk in the corner for those needing to get some work done. Bathroom: Full bath with spa jets. Water pressure is amazing. Toilet and bide. Kichen: Compact, but has everything you need. Full size fridge. Microwave, plenty of cupboard space. Staff: Everything was perfectly clean and housekeeping were amazing. The front desk staff were unfailingly cheerful and happy to help. The level of service is incredible and nothing was too much trouble. I genuinely can't commend the staff highly enough! Location: Perfect spot to explore the rest of London. very close to the South Kensington underground station. I easily walked with 22kg wheelie suitcase. Less than 100m from the Natural History Museum, so perfect access to the Science Museum, and the Victoria & Albert Museum (design museum). Close to Hyde park and plenty of other green spots.
We had a wonderful time here! Beautiful apartment and gorgeous area!
Lovely apartment in serviced apartment hotel. Great space for 1 bedroom unit, with separate kitchen and bathroom. Excellent location in lovely neighbourhood
Very nice a clean well located in an upscale neighbourhood. Lots of restaurants close by with easy access to the Underground at either the South Kensington or Gloucester Road stations.
Very well appointed.
Very good location. The receptionist is very helpful for my check-in and check-out. The room is spacious. Kitchen’s equipment is new. Conditions are good. Will definitely return for my next trip to London.
Great apartment and location
In between 2 train station, great location and service
Great location, friendly service!!
Spacious clean studio apartment in a great locati!
Excellent choice. Great helpful staff. Highly recommended!
Excellent facility in great neighborhood
This facility served our purpose perfectly. My wife and I spent a week in London. We prefer to prepare most meals ourselves for health reasons, do our own laundry and live as if we were natives. We had a fully furnished apartment although it was called a studio with full kitchen, bathtub and shower, comfortable bedding and laundry. The television was equipped with surround sound. The ac/heating was perfect. A cleaning crew did a thorough job daily. The building is in a neighborhood with elementary schools, was charming to see the parents dropping off their children in uniforms. The apartment was a few blocks from Gloucester Street where there were markets, coffee shops, a hardware store, everything we needed including several Lebanese restaurant and a tube station. We walked to the stylish Chelsea neighborhood that was just south of us. The front desk staff was helpful in locating a nearby Fedex facility. Recommend highly.
Great value. Great room.
Very professional and helpful staff. Great room. Near a lot a good restaurants and neat places to visit and in walking distance of all the major tourist sites. Really enjoyed staying in an apartment rather than a small hotel room.
Location was very good and convenient for the tube
All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room and public areas were spotlessly clean. All in all, a very comfortable and pleasant stay.
An excellent secret in the heart of South Kensingt
It is wonderfully located in the heart of the upscale South Kensington district, just a couple of blocks from Museun Row, Hyde Park and the best little restaurants, boutiques. Quee's Gate street is beautiful and reasonably quiet. It is a full renovated elegant row building with modern, very ample suites, top notch maintained at very reasonable price. The staff was extremely friendly and proactive. After several famil yand business trips to London, I will no longer look for other accommodations in the future. Sincerely, Harish Dadoo, from Mexico City
Excellent location handy for public transport. Nice rooms, very clean. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. Would benefit from providing a hairdryer, but most other things you would need are provided. Bit of a noise issue with the floors above but keeping the a.c. on helped that.
Lovely area and convenience to the museum
Congratulations to the staff (from front desk to reservations) at 130 Queen's Gate. We dealt with them twice and were very efficient and helpful.
Excellent option if you do't want to go to a hotel
130 Queens Gate was clean, elegant and spacious. The location is GREAT. Staff was not effusive, but certainly very helpful and accommodating.
Wonderful apartment
We started out looking for a hotel - but found this CHARMING apartment complex. When you think of London - THIS is the neighborhood you think of. The white Georgian buildings were quintessential London. Apartments were well appointed and clean. Traveling with a family - the extra space in our apartment was well appreciated. Staff was exceptional. Very helpful in booking a car, tube information, restaurant recommendations and general inquiries. They also greeted us each time in and out of the lobby by name. This was just a wonderful place to call home during our week in London. Close to everything but very relaxed and removed from the hustle and bustle of central london. This was wonderful location full of trees, parks and museums. We had high expectations and they were all exceeded!! Would HIGHLY recommend and will stay here again.
Good service
first day it is so bad the room so smell like trash bin , finally the staff change apt 2 room and very good and not smell at all
great location , clean and spacious
We were in London just two nights - very spacious with a lovely equipped kitchen but the beds were not very comfortable which is a priority for me. I would stay there again - quiet street well located , clean and good service from staff
They had a problem with the internet that we talked about with the staff every morning and they never got fixed. Disappointed they could not get on top of this but this is a great location and room.
The place to stay at! Highly recommended!
Firstly, our "apartment" at this aparthotel was luxurious! Bright, high ceiling, bedroom was a bit small by North American standards, but very comfortable. Walking distance to literally everything you'd want to be near by if you are on a fun shopping/sightseeing trip with your sister! We didn't have to take the tube, we walked to Harrods, Kensington palace grounds and palace, High Street. Relatively close to Heathrow airport (about 20-30mins by taxi I think).
I've stayed at the hotel before, it is in the perfect spot in London and a wonderful, spacious residence to stay in.
Convenient, clean, quiet apartment
Fabulous location South Kensington 6 minute walk from tube stop. Convenient clean Apartment with kitchen, but twin beds short & not comfortable.
130 Queen's Gate Apartments | Hotel in London | Travala.com
This was an excellent property for a single woman. The staff were very helpful. And they managed to get me in my room early after coming in on an early morning flight from the states. They even called me to let me know when it was ready. There was a little issue with the heat, but they were quick to remedy it. The only negative at all is that the atmosphere is a little cold. It doesn’t have the warmth that is typical in South Kensington properties but that’s a small price to pay for efficiency and cleanliness.
