Outstanding breakfast
Wide selection of quality food for breakfast. The hotel is in a convenient location near Wenceslas Square. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Great location . Brilliant breakfast . Very friendly.
Ok
Lovely mini break
Our flight was delayed over night, they responded immediately to our email and were very understanding when we did finally arrive. Although only a small hotel, there was always someone on hand if you needed them. Very pleasant location, very helpful about where to eat and what to see.
Great staff and hotel
The outlook of this hotel building probably not doing the justice for this hotel, staff and the service. Staff was one of the nicest we have seen/met to date and they fulfilled all of our needs above and beyond. Inside of the hotel kept to a very good conditions despite how it looks from outside or how the surrounding areas look like. The suite we booked is very spacious with 2 rooms setting on either side of the wing so you can let your kids go free as they liked. TV had Netflix so that's a bonus to keep the kids busy. Good selection of hot, cold food served for breakfast, which is regularly topped up. Very close to the centre of Prague with options available to dine out. If I had to mention anything that was not so positive is the mattresses we had were the firmest we ever slept on. We normally have the Firm (UK standard) but these were almost like rocks.
Very friendly staff. Great service.
Great place, spacious, happy staff.
Brilliant location and excellent service. Staff really helpful, really enjoyed the trip
Ok but not more than that
Very large room , the service & cleaning need improvement
Very good location and very good service
Nice place, and lots of choices for breakfast, the staff are lovely avd very accommodating and the most important thing is very accessible.
The hotel is in the center of Prague, near the train station, near several attractions. The city is safe.
Great hotel
Great hotel. 5 min walk from old square but nice and quiet. Definitely recommend
It was good but cleaning of room was bad.
Hotel is in close proximity to all locations and everything is walkable from there. Hotel services are good and staffs are pretty cooperative. I would definitely recommend this hotel for fellow travelers.
Deluxe Suite - great value
We booked a Deluxe Suite visiting just before Christmas, having 2 rooms for ourselves and the kids was a godsend. Very clean, staff were very helpful and polite and the breakfast was excellent. Within easy walking distance of Wensaslas Sq and the museums, and quite central for Trams to Old town and the Caste. Would thoroughly recommend, great value for money
Hotel star system failed on this occasion
Dated fixtures and furnishings, TV not working no bedside lamp, etc. guests openly making up packed lunches in dining room at breakfast. Hotels.com really need to look at the rating of this hotel it is not to their usual standard.of accuracy
When we first got dropped off at the hotel I was a little concerned by the outside of the building. . But when we went inside it looked nice inside. The lady on reception was really friendly and helpful. Our room was nice a clean. It wasn’t the biggest room I’ve stayed in before but then again it was never going to be the smallest either. When asked for another pillow for the room they brought it up straight away. The breakfast at the hotel was good. There was a choice of Cereals, cold cheese.meat . There was Cooked , yoghurt , cakes etc. Juice and tea and coffee. The location was great . A 5 minute walk and you were in Wencless Square .
Friendly, helpful staff. Good beeakfast and nice room
This is an old but reasonable facility. I got an small room on level 2 with a view of the wall. The room was very dark without a good air flow. The mini bar refrigerator wasn’t working properly. They have a great friendly staff and the room was clean. The location was close to enough to the attractions but I don’t believe it deserves the four stars.
Excellent facilities, comfortable bed and friendly helpful staff.
Love the art deco style of this hotel. It's very close to the national museum and all the key areas. Great for a small visit Prague. The room was stylish and was clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. Also the breakfast was fresh with lots of options. Had a great experience here for one night. Will do it again.
Good hotel well located
Quick stay but experience was good. A bit old fashioned but very functional.
Great staff and service, spacious rooms and clean at the same time.
Auto parking garage is innovative and very convenient
Very clean and comfortable room, friendly staff, breakfast with many choices
Prague business trip
Nice hotel but not sure where the 4 stars come from, only a small lobby area and no restaurant but all in all a decent hotel.
Business Trip.
The hotel has a nice family run feel, unlike many of the larger alternatives. Room was not huge, but bed was firm and comfortable, and everything was clean and in good condition. Reasonable walk to the Old City, but for me it was close to where my conference was being held.
Proximity to the sites of interest was key, breakfast was amazing and filling. I didn’t need to eat another meal until supper after that!
Only down side is no separate bar area
Very well located hotel, good service and very good breakfast. Very ample room. Excellent price-service combination.
Good location. Rooms/hotel need updating.
Great place to stay!
It’s rare to find a large bathroom with shower as well as air conditioning when traveling in Europe. It’s also in a great location. This was a great place to stay, would do it again.
Clean room, bathroom. Good internet. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. The only negative was hard bed, but I got used to it after a night.
Clean, modern, superb bathroom, outstanding breakfast, welcoming personnel. Quiet room. Reasonable price made it a very good value. Very close to old city.
excelent hotel
very good
Was very nuce place and would stay again. Close to everythinf..
The hotel overall was okay, but it's nothing special. The front desk clerk bordered on being outright rude every time I spoke with her. As for location, while it's only a few blocks to Wenseclas square, you have to walk past several strip clubs and adult stores to get there. Not the best scenery! The best feature was the breakfast buffet, which has a wide variety from which to choose. I would consider staying here again if everything else was booked.
Hotel was great and in a great location. Definitely will stay again on my next trip to Prague.
Fantastic
Amazing staff that were really helpful and friendly. Great room that was clean. Decent breakfast. Almost everything was perfect. The only bit that wasn't was that we had 2 single duvets for a double room which was awkward but easy enough to figure out to make it work. The negative was so negligible I'm giving ut 5 stars because I really enjoyed it there. Thanks.
Republic Hotel
Hotel is walking distance to the main train and bus station and to lots of points of interest including the old town square. For those who want to use public transport trains and trams are very close by. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean . Breakfast at the hotel was really good .
Good depending on the price
Its a médium category hotel, if you get it at a goof price is a good move. It's about a 20 minute walk to get to the center.
Cleaning staff nice, receptionist less than welcoming, a bit cold but otherwise nice.
Great few days
My husband and myself went to Prague for a few days and stayed at this hote which was very central and a great place to stay. The rivana wine is delicious.
Nice hotel close to public transit. Good breakfast
We spent 3 days in Prague and we were happy to stay in this hotel. Very close to public transit. Rooms are modern and clean. Very helpful Staff. Great Breakfast.
Great staff, great location
Hotel staff are awesome. They gave us coffee and cakes while we were waiting for check in. Staff is always ready to help. Great location. Near major attractions. Clean hotel. Excellent breakfast.
Terrific staff in a tired hotel.
First, a word about the staff. All of the reviews that I've read about this hotel speak highly of the staff and I will too. They work very hard and incredibly accommodating. I can't thank them enough. I stayed for two nights recently. The hotel was about an easy 12 minute walk from the train station. Easy to get to. It is farther than I realized from the Old City which makes it quieter, but still is about 25 minutes walking, which doesn't make it so easy to come back and rest in the middle of the day without figuring out public transportation. The hotel breakfast was very good and varied, and they have signs posted about making accommodations for people with dietary restrictions. The building itself needs an upgrade. The fixtures in the room are old and not in great condition. The air conditioner in my room was a wall mounted unit directly over the bed (at the pillow end) which meant at night we had very cold air blowing on our heads. It was a choice between freezing or being very warm. The television was very small for the room and while everything worked, it didn't work well. The furniture is bumped and bruised, the shower leaks, the mirror was wonky, etc. It needs a full redoing to bring it up to modern standards. It was probably great 20+ years ago when refurbished.
Excellent place, service and location!!
Fab holiday
Fantastic hotel, excellent location, lovely and clean
Great stay
We definitely enjoyed our stay here it was very convenient to the trim and to the underground. Services. The rooms were clean and nice and cool and all the amenities of wonderful.
Good location
Can't complain about this hotel. The location is a 10 minute walk into main tourist areas ( yes you do have to walk down bit of a dodgy steer with a sex shop and what looked like lap dancing type bars...but I felt completely safe, even late at night). The room wasn't massive but perfectly adequate and the bathroom was certainly a good size. Bed was really comfy. The room and bathroom were both very clean. Breakfast was plentiful with a fair amount to choose from. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Overall I can't fault it...Yes you could stay right in the centre, but would be paying a lot more and really this hotel has everything you need.
It was fine, we were enjoyed it.
Nice hotel, appears at first off the beaten track
Rooms were recently renovated , well maintained , clean and the staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was a little respective as we stayed 7 days
It is a very nice hotel, clean, Great staff, great breakfast.
City hotel for a short break
Hotel is located about a 10 min walk from Wenceslas Square, good location. Stayed for 4 nights, bed and breakfast. A base for sightseeing for a long weekend.
Service staff are quite nice! They even lent us an umbrella when it started raining heavily as we headed out. Location could be better, it was not as close to the sites as we would have preferred, but not bad at all.
3* hotel close to everything
The hotel and rooms are very clean. Staff is excellent. Breakfast is OK. Does not look like 4* hotel.
Gr8 place for a short trip
Very convenient hotel with great staff and extensive breakfast
Great location
The hotel was centrally located and close to everything which was great. The hotel was clean but is in need of a bit of a facelift. The was an issue with the heating/cooling system in our room and it got really hot at night. The free breakfast every morning was really great with a huge selection of food.
Excellent Hotel
Great break away lots to do and see. Prague is a very pretty place
Nice Stay
We like the hotel, the room size, the comfort of bed, the shower, the breakfast, the wifi. Location is 2 station away from the main station, then have to walk a bit. And it is just around 8 minutes to wenceslas square. We took tram no 12 to Prague Castle which is also near the hotel.
Nice Hotel
We stayed here 2 nights. It has a good central location. A good breakfast buffet.
Nicely located boutique hotel
The staff here are excellent. Polite, attentive, helpful, and skilled in the English language. The breakfast is also above average. The bathroom facilities are clean and modern, and they have 2 computers in the lobby you can use for Internet and printing boarding passes. The location is also very good - it's on a kind of side street, but very close to IP Pavlova metro station (5-7 minute walk), and you can even walk to the sites without transportation in about 20 minutes, and doing this you can find hidden gems of Prague. I was very pleased with my stay here and would give this hotel 4.4/5 rating. The wifi does not work well at all, and is probably down more than it is up and working. Also, I know it is an energy saving feature, but the halls are very dark, and lights come on by motion activation. Sometimes you walk a bit in the dark before the lights come on, and that is a bit creepy. I always felt safe there, however. Fix the Wifi and I would undoubtedly come back!
Great Hotel
had a lovely stay at the Republic Hotel Prague. Staff were really helpful as we needed a gluten free diet. The staff in Breakfast room supplied gluten free bread, pasta and even slices of gluten free cake for us. The Beds were really comfortable and rooms clean, all toiletries in the bathroom supplied . Hotel is a short walk to Wenceslas Square
Great hotel close to Wenceslas Square
Second time at the hotel service was excellent as usual.Reception staff ever helpful and rooms kept spotless and cleaned daily.Breakfast was superb ,something for everyone.
Nice hotel, quiet area , not too far from centre
Comfortable beds, room and on-suite very clean and good size. Free toiletries, great for a city break. The hotel was quiet at night we stayed tue-fri, the breakfast choice was extensive, hot and cold buffet style to cater for the mix of nationalities. Would definitely stay there again when we re visit Prague.
Great value for money!
Stayed here with boyfriend for long weekend. Hotel Was perfect location close to everything and staff couldn't have done more for us. Was really surprised at the high quality of the hotel for the price we paid. Will def be back!
convenient for old town
Hotel reception staff exceedingly helpful and friendly
Amazingg
Great hotel experience. Amazing breakfast buffet available of you get the package. A walk away from New Town and about 1.5km walk to Old Town Sq.
Lovely hotel situated close to the centre
My sister and I both found the staff, receptionists, cleaning staff and dining room staff friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable and bathroom spotless. The products available were good quality. The buffet breakfast was delicious with numerous choices to suit all tastes. I would certainly return to this hotel and will recommend family who intend to visit Prague in the future.
Great hotel, with great location
Had a great stay at 1. Republic Hotel. Had great facilities and their provided breakfast was fantastic. Only thing we disliked was that our 'double bed' was actually two singles on a double base so there was a gap between the two mattresses. Apart from that, great room, great place to stay, highly recommend.
Nice hotel
We came here for my boyfriend's 30th birthday, which I mentioned at the time of booking. So I was delighted to arrive to a complimentary bottle of fizz! Room was large and clean, plenty of towels and a nice shower. My only slight niggle was I didn't find the pillows all that comfortable...but that is down to personal preferences! Would recommend.
Very nice hotel
We stayed in a suite for an excellent price. It has a good location and parking available. The staff were all very polite and the breakfast was excellent.
Great Location
Very nice hotel, nice rooms, very clean, good price. Hotel is in a very good location. 5 minute walk to Wensclas Sq.
4 nights in Prague
Good value for money hotel. Staff helpful. Found the room a bit too hot at night even with no heat on so left the window open. Good breakfast. Good shower. Good location. Would definitely use again.
Warm, welcoming hotel near the centre of Prague
I arrived late at around 10 pm, reception staff were friendly. The hotel had a warm, cosy interior and my room was just the right size. The bathroom has a good shower and complimentary toiletries. The room is even equipped with a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities which is not very common in hotels in Europe in general. Flat screen TV has a few English channels and there is even a DVD player, though I didn't use it. The minibar is stocked with various drinks. The beds were very comfortable. My room rate included a buffet breakfast served from 7:00-10:30. The buffet breakfast offers a wide selection of items including fruit, bread, cakes, cereals, chesse and ham platters, and hot breakfast items (egg, bacon etc). The hotel is located a little further out from the very centre of Prague but the Old Town and main sights are still within walking distance and the nearest metro station is about 5 minutes walk away. Overall, this hotel is a great base to explore Prague.
Good hotel in excellent location
This is a really well run hotel and only a few minutes walk from the old town centre. The rooms are a good size with a strong WiFi signal. The breakfast buffet provided plenty of choice and staff were always pleasant. Overall excellent value. I would certainly use this hotel again.
friendly personnel
Very good and fully satisfied
Republic hotel Prague
very enjoyable stay at this hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. rooms were clean and comfortable. safe in bedrooms without an extra charge brilliant. will definitely go back again to this hotel.
Second time here, really pleased
Hotel stay was a pleasure, mainly because of the reception staff are so nice and you get a good value for money. Breakfast has a lot of choice and good things to eat too! Beds are extremely comfortable, want to buy the same ones for home, too. Rooms are clean and for the price you pay you get more than what others offer for the same money.
Hard to find, but worth the hunt
Difficult to find, but a great hotel. I would certainly stay again. No extra charges ( as is usually the case in Europe) - everything was included - free internet access, free use of lobby computers as well as printers, free breakfast that was GREAT! Restaurants were available nearby, as was the metro.
Value for money hotel with central location
Friendly and helpful staff. In spite of early arrival, room made available after a short wait. Breakfast spread good.
Penthouse apartment at 1 Republic
We (6 women in their 40s) stayed in the apt. It was fantastic and within easy walking distance of all tourist areas. The receptionist even helped us source somewhere to go for a massage and spa. She was great. Would definitely go back. Breakfast was OK too. Apt was spotless and well equipped. Would benefit though from another shower room if I was being picky.
Republic hotel - a pleasant stay
Hotel was very clean, staff was friendly, awesome breakfasts
Convenient location and a good value.
Good hotel for the money. Staff was great and very helpful, the room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding! Easy walking distance to Wenceslaus Square and the major sights. I'd definitely stay there again.
Good stay
Overall, It is a nice hotel. the location is good and easily accessible by metro and bus however you do not need those as you can just walk in nice Prague. its 15 mins walk to old town and river. Generraly, It is a perfect place for the money you pay.
One night in Prague
I chose hotel so that it was most close to Vatslavskaya Square. In hotel I was at 18.00 and at once became populated in number 111. It was as though on 2м a floor. View from the window I was on the neighboring house, but me arranged shopping mall I for only 1 night. Breakfast I didn't manage to use shopping mall early was moved (so a breakfast there with 7 до10.30). Room tall, clean.all worked.
Great find in central Prague!
Hotel was fantastic , we were warmly welcomed and given traditional cake upon arrival. Checked into a suite, it was absolutely massive and was bigger than our home! It was very modern and always clean. The location was perfect for a city break as 5 minute walk to the main high street and 10 minutes to the old town. The breakfast provided a great selection of continental breakfast. Overall a great hotel for the money and location in the city centre. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Thank you for a great stay. I would recommend to friend and family.
It was a very nice hotel, just on a weird street! Everything else was great
Close to a Metro station
Very good location and the hotel has a great service, the breakfast buffets were awesome.
Great location, but did not live up to other stays
This was the third leg of our trip from Budapest, to Vienna, to Prague, to Dresden. I decided to stay at this "#15 TripAdvisor ranked bed and breakfast" due to the clean looking bathroom (in my experience, the nicer the bathroom, the nicer the hotel). However, possibly due to the high expectations I had, and also the fact that our hotels in Budapest and Vienna were absolutely gorgeous, I was let down just a bit. There's absolutely nothing majorly wrong with the rooms, it is just that they appear a little more dated compared to some of the sleek and modern photos I saw on TripAdvisor. Sadly this was the only hotel (out of 4 cities) that I did not take a photo of. Also, it's too bad that they had to take two twin size mattresses in lieu of an actual king size, and you also have to turn on the lights manually when you reach your hotel floor. On the upside, it is extremely close to the trams that you will be taking, it is in a safe neighborhood, and there are some places nearby to grab a nice quick bite to eat.
Excellent comfort!
This hotel was the best of my month long European trip. The service was fantastic and the rooms was great! Lots of little luxuries like fluffy white bath robes, really comfy beds, bathroom goodies. The free buffet breakfast was a real spread - great tasting and huge variety. We were so happy and would stay here again and again. The location was about 10 min walk from main rail and maybe 20 - 25 minute walk to Charles Bridge (we were very happy with this location and value for money).
Spacious room, Excellent breakfast
Staffs are all friendly and efficient, room is huge and clean.
Very good, not really a 4 star hotel, though
If this hotel were rated 3 stars, I would rate it much more highly. It is new, the staff is terrific and everything is clean. But it is no 4 star hotel. The rooms are small, there is no restaurant on site (there is a breakfast room) and the quality of the furnishings and finishes were clearly not at the 4 star level. Not a bad choice at the right price, but if you are expecting a 4 star experience, you will be disappointed.
1 Republic Hotel - excellent accomodation
The hotel is in a good location, only 5 minutes from Wenceslas Sq, and 10-15mins from Old Town. The staff at the desk spoke perfect English and were really helpful with advice on trains, buses, places of interest.
Nov 2012
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was on the small side but comfortable. Close to wenceslas square. Decent hotel at a fair price
good experience
Excellent location, peaceful, spacious rooms and helping staff. however absence of restaurant is a big negative, u dont get any food in the hotel if u r arriving odd hours or weather is bad.... and there are no great places to eat nearby...
Good for short break
Real good hotel in location close to many walkable places, mainline station, Wensenslas Square, State Opera
Recommendable quality and value.
A very good hotel. It is located in a quiet neighborhood near the Wenceslas Square. It is close to Pavlova Metro station. My room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. From the perspective of an experienced international traveler, the hotel's quality and value are recommendable.

Great location.
Very comfortable and great location.
