The property is very nice. The parking is better than other properties that I was looking at, so I chose it. However, it was difficult to get a parking spot at nights.
Excellent, right downtown
Excellent stay
Friendly staff Good food Nice view from room
Excellent service.
Paramaribo in November
A nice place to stay within walking distance of many restaurant options. They have good restaurant onsite and a nice pool.
Was a great stay. Top service
The pool needs repairs
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The breakfast was too expensive $25 per person
OK experience only downside is construction currently ongoing so a bit noisy in the rooms at all hours.
Great food, nice atmosphere
Good price, clean, breakfast was nice. Room AC was giving trouble.
The cleaning & restaurant service staff is outstanding: friendly & efficient. Sadly, management rents facilities to loud parties, with no consideration for paying guests. My first night I was kept up past 3AM. It took repeated attempts to get a front desk person on the phone in of the lobby. Front desk staff claimed they didn't hear them. Which is possible as my room was 2 floors above the lobby with closed windows. I could see the group and the lobby doors were frequently open, with the front desk less than 50 feet from )the screami ng mob. It literally took calling security to stop the screaming. No management apogy or even a comped cup of coffee for running a ight you pay for.
Excellent service.
Excellent
I was greeted by Angelique. I had ran from the place I was staying before and she was very empathetic. I was allowed to check in early for a small fee. She answered all my questions and called me after check in to make sure that everything was up to part.
This is a beautiful facility. I hate that I only had one night to stay! Plan to return when I'm back in Paramaribo, Suriname!
Great option for accommodation when doing business in Paramaribo
Rooms are due for renovation. —friendly staff
Nice and quite
Price was different from what was quoted by expedia
Hotel is good Well located However it is in need of remodeling in some floors Room service and lobby attendants fantastic Good great
The pool was dirty.
I loved the food. Quite delicious.
hotel needs an upgrade
Clean, tidy rooms, convenient transportation, quiet location, close to other dining options - particularly the sushi on the go location across the parking lot.
Nice property, friendly staff. The breakfast was not included and at $23/person I felt it was way too expensive for the spread they had. The equipment in the gym is very outdated.
Courteous, professional, pleasant.
Great friendly staff.
Room was ok. No chance to watch TV cause bad view and old. Need to be replaced. Swimming pool is to close to the bar. So we missing some privacy.
Good maintenance of the areas. Meal prices are a bit high.
Poor housekeeping
Great property.
Everything was great. Good service, Great food.
Hardly anything complimentary at this hotel. Water for example was provided on the first day. At times there were delays when requesting information and things like towels. The breakfast was great. Great soups. I was even forgotten at one of the special buffet dinners, and I had to ask the staff if I don't appear affluent enough. It is important to also check for hidden fees, which you find out exist at check-in.
The breakfast was unique and quite the spread!
food horrible at the hotel
Restaurant at the property food is horrible sadly they do not how to cook
Every time better, my favor...
Courtyard is basically the best option in Paramaribo; I have used this hotel at least 3 times and every stay is really good. I want to have special thanks for the staff; anything you need or anything you ask; they are always willing to help.
Pretty cool
Pretty good compared to other hotels in Paramaribo. In a quieter zone so you can rest after a long day of work. Staff is really good and friendly.
In one word EXELLENCE!. From the entrance into the room te welcome and handling perfect. The room is great and I had a perfect rest. Mariott thank you!
We had an amazing!
Room was damp and although ibwas promised a humidifier, it never came.
Paramaribo stay
Pleasant stay. Staff very helpful, some more knowledgeable than others about day trip etc. Breakfast was very good. Location was okay as town was a fair walk. Very few restaurants near by.
Friendly staff, central location, and safe surroundings
Complimentary breakfast was fantastic with great variety. Staff was great.
Excellent restaurant
Typical Marriott facility but better than average service. Restaurant on-site is superb - even if you’re staying off site a must to dine here
Top service, very friendly staff, late check-out availability, clean room.
Great value. Friendly staff, breakfast w/lots of options. Cheesecake w/passionfruit syrop is recommended. Nice view of the river.
Excellent service and the employees are super helpful. Rooms are standard and clean, and the food at the restaurant is delicious. That being said, amenities like the gym could be improved.
Great lodging neat Cardy’s Adventures
Great location- near Cardy’s Adventures and top Chinese restaurant. The food was great, definitely take a room that includes breakfast. We had a few issues and were delighted with the professionalism in helping to resolve them!
Customer service was excellent from all layers of staff
Fast check in and check out. Good facilities and pleasant staff. Would stay again.
Great internet speed!
Very friendly personnel and a comfy room. Great internet speed!
Efficient check in service. I’m a business traveler so it’s important for me to have consistent internet service and they delivered on that.
The staff were great, the food too. The rooms were comfortable, your usual Courtyard standard.
Great hotel! I would stay there again.
The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. Their taxi service and drivers are very knowledgeable and can help you get to your destination, including restaurants. Most staff speak Dutch and English, and some are Spanish-speaking. The breakfast buffet has many options, including an omelette bar. Lunch and dinner portion sizes are quite large, like you would find in the U.S. They also have ready made sandwiches, salads and other snacks for sale at the front desk. Also, there are some small supermarkets nearby, a short taxi drive away. There is a bar/restaurant outside near the pool. The pool area has cabanas that overlook the river. It's a nice space for a nap, to take a call or to unwind. Of course, there is a business center for printing any documents that you may need. Next door is a casino. Otherwise, the location is not in the downtown and not that walkable. But with the efficient taxi service, that doesn't really matter. I would stay at this Courtyard again. I had a great experience!
The best hotel in Suriname. Food is probably top 5, staff are super nice and competent.
The staff was very courteous and helpful... it was a good experience overakk
Convenient location for short business stays. Courtious staf
Nice Hotel
Besides the pricey breakfast everything was good The Breakfast was good too, but a bit pricey @ $ 23 + tips
Great service, very good food.
Hotel security especially the lift. You need your card to move the lift. Only the parking is always crowded at night.
Best for business
I always stay here. Great internet, good food and service and rooms.
The staff were ok not particularly friendly, unwilling to find my AMarriott rewards number on checking I was assured it would be sorted before check out. That was not done again I asked at check out and they said I can do it online. I have a ver early check out, leaving the hotel at 2:30 am, I paid for 2 days breakfast included and at no time not at checking in or when I checked out the night before departure was I told I could have a breakfast packed for travel. This is disappointing as I paid for breakfast at $22 and nothing was provided for me not even a bottle of water. The room had a funny smell but was clean.
Standard Place
It's the best of the rest in the area and still better than the Toriaca. Just don't expect too much.
It does not meet Marriott International Standard The Cleanliness and Food Quality was Poor
Nice hotel
great service all around. reliable wake up, attentive personal, good buffet.
THE FACILITIES AS WELL AS THE ENTIRE STAFF WERE GREAT. I WILL DEFINITELY STAY THERE WHENEVER I RETURN TO SURINAME.
Great hotel close to everything. Now with a Casino
We came, they checked us in, the rooms were great and the food was great (albeit expensive).
Quiet haven in a buzzing town
I changed hotels to the Marriott because of the comfort and consistent standards they are known for. The rooms were clean and the gym was phenomenal. There was always an employee willing to help you or at least acknowledge that you needed help making you feel important and appreciated. The staff was by far the friendliest group I encountered in Georgetown. I received a room upgrade because I had checked in early and my room wasn't ready, how is that for customer service.
Simply the best
THE best place to stay for a vacation or business trip in Suriname. Very friendly staff, perfect restaurants and awesome breakfast. The water is not always warm which would be my only point of critics.
Very good food and friendly staff.
Bit of a problem with the card reader for one of the elevators but they were working on it
Always stay here
Best place for business
Wonderful hospitality and food!!
The hotel was fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
Excellent stay for business, very polite and friendly staff.
3 nigjts in Paramaribo
Nice hotel and now price is pretty good. Be prepaid to pay a small surcharge for increased cost of utilities. Not sure why they do not increase the price instead of an unexpected surcharge at check-in. Total price is still pretty good so I did not complain too much. The room has nice space wirh a couch and good desk and work space.
Ambiance was fantastic & staff very hospitable.
Great garden and pool area. Close to the river. Nice options for dinner and breakfast.
Poor customer service and shabby hotel
They cancelled our reservations before we got there, which delayed our check in process by almost 2 hrs. It was already late at night, the airport was an hr away from the airport. So to add that delay was just unacceptable. I was coming from California. It took me 26 hrs to get there! The cutomer service was very poor. The pipe in the shower dripped the entire time and was falling off the wall. There was loud music every night from next door. I could hear the person throwing up, every night. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.
Convenient Business Hotel
Slow service at Meat Us restaurant. Missing welcome bottle of water in room.
Very good hotel but mean with the bottled water
There is nothing wrong with this hotel - the staff are great, the room is fine, the location is good. My only gripe is the lack of free bottled water upon arrival - something I thought every half-decent hotel provided. I arrived late at night, checked in and dragged my weary self to the room. Then I took a painkiller for my newly broken arm. I looked for some water to swish it down with the room was bereft of complimentary water. There was non in the fridge either. So I had to ring down to reception and order a ridiculously expensive bottle on room service. This was the only thing that spoilt my stay and could have been so easily avoided.
Happy Customer
It was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and very helpful.
Great stay for business travel.
Everything was just great about this hotel, from check in to check out. The staff we all friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom always clean. The best part was that I had a 2am wake up call to catch my flight. I didn't hear the phone ring. I didn't even hear the alarm on my phone going off. They sent someone to my room to wake me. They even had a breakfast bag for me to take to the airport. I'll stay there again.
different , but good.
short and enjoyable. welcome exposure to a new environmentand culture.
Nice Place to Stay
Very well managed and maintained property, with super attentive staff that combine to create a pleasant environment. Short taxi ride to the main downtown/nightclub/bar area of city. Recommended. All the things you expected from a brand like Marriott.
Great Hotel
I was travelling for business. Great hotel, nice big room, good restaurant and pool.
Comfortable hotel with mixed service quality
Only poor experience was the bar in the lobby. Poor service, the guys there pays no attention to customers. He packs his drinks Nd chats with his coworker. I left without any drink.
Amazing!
Great rooms, breakfast and dinner is awesome and staff is always available to help.
Nice place
Very nuce
I always stay here
Great staff! Expensive restaurant but other than that the best place to stay. Don't miss the fresh fish sandwich!
Always stay here!
Great as always! High priced food but otherwise great staff and the best place to stay.
Service is outstanding
For business this hotel is perfect!! The internet speed is very good. Good rooms and Services is outstanding.
Best option for an 'American' feel in Suriname
Only a few negatives.. we were called 'by mistake' by the staff at 3:15 AM for a wake up call ??!!! When they realized the mistake they just said "oopps"!! I would have like to have seen a discount.... 2ndly... there were very few dining options... the hotel restaurant was closed to serve only a very pricey Couples Valentine meal..$150 per couple.. no other options made available.. no ala carte...The Great part of the stay was the was amazing pool...and a lovely room ~
Good for business and pleasure
The hotel is reasonably new and in good condition. Perhaps not as nice as other Marriotts I have stayed in but decent. There is a very nice chill out area behind the hotel, which backs onto the river with a pool, gym, bar and restaurant. Location is good, quiet and not too far from the city centre.
In Paramaribo for renewal of passports.
Enjoyable stay.Pleasant and helpful staff.Good food.
service going down....
I be stay this hotel every time I be Surniame, but they are service are going down now. the old staff still sweet and best service, the new staff service are xxxxxx.. next trip I thing I need get other hotel to stay....
where is best hotel at SR
your best stay at SR
A safe choice
Good rooms, very nice staff. Far from downtown if walking. Otherwise is fine.
Always stay at the Marriott when I visit Paramaribo. Staff is very friendly and helpful and rooms are excellent.
Best place to stay for business
I have stayed in almost all the main hotels in Paramaribo. Marriott Courtyard will always be my first choice. The internet works, the airport transportation is far better than the other hotels and the rooms are designed according to US standards...lots of electrical outlets, good workstations, and above all internet.
Visit for last 3 Years. Last Time
i have been visiting Suriname for the pass three years and always stayed at this Marriott. I found that the service was somewhat disappointing this year. The website said that breakfast was $12 if i didnt take the room with breakfast included which was $20 extra for two, that is $10 per person. I didnt ask and i was hit with $187 for five adults and four kids. The staff told me $20 per adult, and the internet had a 2009 price. As well as dinner was $200 for pizza and pasta. The food quality is good, but very overprice, even for Marriott standard. I will explore my options for another hotel next time i am in Suriname.
Very nice and clean close to shopping center and dining area
