Great hotel

This hotel is amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean. The food is beautiful and it’s in a great location

We had the nile view which was nice, there’s a lot of options to eat around the area. Staff is extremely friendly and the Italian restaurant had good pizza. There’s an atm inside the hotel that also didn’t charge a transaction fee for me to take out money. It’s close to a lot of affordable restaurants as well. It was a bit chilly so I wasn’t able to enjoy the pool but the views are nice. Honestly the pictures don’t do it justice. It looks a lot better in person. Showers had hot water as well.

Good to stay

Hotel was fairly nice for the price, we didn’t splurge coming here so our room was average. If you have a short stay before your cruise to Luxor it’s a good overnight stay. Staff were kind and helpful. I’d recommend or return if I were back in Aswan. Also it’s steps away from a huge market which is a bonus.

Awful hotel

Hotel did not have water, was not informed of this prior to paying for the stay. Was unable to shower, etc. I paid nearly $200 USD to stay here. Hotel offered to bring water bottles at no additional cost to the room, but never delivered them. We had 3 people staying, and they charged us an additional $50 for a bed they never brought us. Ultimately, I’d have been further ahead staying in a tent. Staff was rude when we asked about the water and second bed.

Lovely rooms to the highest standards

Loved this hotel! The view of the Nile River and the West Bank is spectacular! The sun sets are amazing and watching the sailboat sale the Nile is just spectacular! Quite a few restaurant options without even leaving the hotel. 100 egp taxi ride to anywhere on the East Bank. The staff was amazing and always made sure we were taking care of! We will definitely stay here again. Also they have money changing machines on site

The best hotel we stayed at on our 12-day trip

The hotel is stunning. There are stores, multiple restaurants, swimming pool, private felucca sailings onsite. The room was fantastic, we got the upgraded room which was great. The staff was very helpful with all of our needs from getting us a car to the airport to giving us a private tour of the facility. Housekeeping was thorough and friendly as well. The only comment I have to put out there only because it surprised me and may be a deal breaker for others considering staying here was that I thought I was going to get a balcony Nile view room like the ones I saw in all of the photos online but on the North side of the hotel the view is of what appears to be a water treatment facility which really took away from the experience. I can't complain because it is still a Nile view room and did get to see the balloon launches each morning from the balcony.

Could smell fresh paint in the corridor leading to our room as well as our balcony facing the Nile, precluding us from the use of it. The botton controlling the shower head worked inconsistently and the water temperature swung randomly. Could’ve been more generous with provision of bottle water in the room. Breakfast buffet was mediocre. The view from the room was great. The transportation desk was excellent with its offering of various tours and activities at reasonable prices.

Good 5star hotel

Great location, Right by the Nile river. Hotel itself is a little bit outdated, but still in good condition. Staffs are super friendly, 5 star service. There are Italian, japanese restaurants along with cafes. Also live music and singing at the evening time at cafe. Breakfast buffet is average, overall nice hotel. Would love to come back.

The hotel has ineffably stunning views of the nile and west bank. It is clean and has courteous staff.

Very convenient for going to Luxor attractions like Hot Air Balloon, Karnak and Luxor Temples. Other attractions are also not far. Luxor airport is 20 mins by car. Staff is friendly and allowed me to do late check out as my flight is in the evening.

Best views in Luxor

Arrived on train and the hotel gave us our room 8am and did late check out 2pm. Breakfast great, loved the omelettes with flaffels. Dinner great value outside on decking overlooking Nile. Samir operates the taxis opposite hotel, 1250 for Valley of kings trip. 600 to airport. Room with view of Nile worth it just for the amazing sunsets.

The staff were very helpful. The internet is very slow unable to do back ups to the I cloud . The rooms are looking rather dated. However the Japanese restaurant is excellent & the staff are very helpful & willing.

Beds were comfy. Service was great. Breakfast buffet excellent. Side Nile view room had a bathtub/ shower combination. Very uncomfortable if you're abit tall like I am, around 6"2.

Sonesta is excellent value for money! The Nile view balconies are an essential part of the magic and I especially love the live music in the lobby. It feels like a five star experience. The shops inside the hotel are excellent and offer good prices too. I also highly recommend getting a massage with Maria at the spa.

Excellent option at Luxor

It was an amazing experience, services and food was good and with typical local options. The only I might mention as negative point is the bathtub with options that I wish to work, but gave the service expected. The beds well comfortable and pillows as well. TV options not that much available for foreigns, but no need that much due all ammenities offered.

Nice hotel! We stayed here 1 night for our Luxor tour. The bed was huge! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options, and my picky 2-year old even ate! We had a side Nile-view room which was really nice, especially at night with all the lights. I would definitely recommend.

We stayed as an overnight before a Nile cruise. Arrived late, but still had a good dinner available. Staff were great. Room was lovely - I think they upgraded us. Wished we were staying longer.

We have a beautiful experience, great place to enjoy all the touring and relaxing at the same time. The best view of the Nile River and the mountains, we enjoy the sunset from the room with the view of the balloons. The pool is a plus, great restaurants. But the best of the Sonesta is the people, great service, everybody were very polite, they really go above and beyond, we never have such attention anywhere in the world. Katherine from Public Relations was always on top of our needs. We have a great experience and we totally recommend Sonesta St George Hotel for anyone that wants to have a great experience.

Excellent service! My family and I were very satisfied with the hotel, the service offered, the food, the hospitality and overall in every aspect. Did not let me adjust my booking. Hard to work with

Nardeena gave us a very warm welcome and gave us a free upgrade, without us asking. We were made to feel very special. Nermeen arranged for a late checkout with no extra cost and she was also lovely. All of the staff are so helpful and friendly. Nagha at the poolside was very attentive, nothing was too much trouble, always smiling. We would definitely stay in this hotel again 😊

Nice hotel

Amazing place, the view, the room and service was exceptional. Love the hotel, friendly staff.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the St George. Our views were magnificent. Not only of The Nile, but of the daily sunset, the pool and in the distance the mountains - the Valley of the Kings and the Queens. The pool was super as was the service and food. The only down sight was food that was not available from the room service menu. I would definitely stay here again. The dining options were good.

Sonesta was an excellent experience overall, the 1 suggestion I’d make would be fruit availability & fresh juice throughout the day…otherwise, I’ll recommend Sonesta to anyone I know traveling to Luxor 👍

Vinimos por un dia y terminamos quedandonos 6 dias aqui. Uno de los mejores lugares que he estado, nos sentimos en casa aqui. El servicio del restaurant estuvo excelente, el personal muy amable. Las habitaciones impecablemente limpias. Si un dia regreso a Luxor, volvere a este lugar.

The people at the front desk Wahid and Nardine were very warm and friendly. They gave us two beautiful suites with an amazing view of the river Nile. The breakfast was nice too. There's a swimming pool to relax and a boat ride thats connected with the hotel! It was the best part of our Egypt tour!

Despite we just stayed for half day, staff was incredible and prepared to us lunch boxes for our trip back to Cairo, definitely a great hotel will come back more time to enjoy it.

This hotel was Amazing!! The managers and staff are FANTASTIC! Stay here!! Do not look any further! Property has great food, bar, shopping, pool and a fantastic Nile view. The Royal room has a Jetted tub with slippers and robes. This hotel made my whole trip. They even have great staff to help plan a private trip.

Very clean. Nice rooms with very good bathrooms. Staff is very friendly. The hotel pool is very nice and pool side drinks and snacks are awesome. The hotel has a nice large deck that's literally is on Nile river. We enjoyed watching boats go by at dawn and dusk. Sunsets over the river were magical.

The hotel was outdated, dusty and smelled like smoke. The staff however were very attentive and did their best to make our stay enjoyable.

The hotel close to many temple, But front of the hotel it was terrible with the hantor ( ride with horse) Also since day one no one from the guest relation contact me regarding the service the hotel offered for the guests One day a manger told me there a open buffet for lunch after I ate they charged me 28 $ per person the manager told me it was free Room service never been on time you have to ask them to come and clean The hotel is clean but one day in my room the employees next door was knocking the wall on me

Good hotel, Great location

Very nice hotel in a great location and super helpful desk staff. I stayed here in 2022 and had a great experience all around. During this stay it felt like the service in the restaurants slipped down and the quality of the food did not seem to bas as good as previous years stay. Cleaning staff was still great.

Despite the property being dated, the service was outstanding.

Enjoyed the extra large king bed. Room was specious. Excellent breakfast. Great pool area. Staff was wonderful.

Wonderful property in Luxor. While I booked a nonsmoking room, was placed into smoking room. Issue was handled effectively by guest relations staff..thank you Mavey and you more than made up for the initial issue. Nile river view rooms are wonderful. This is a full service hotel with everything you want and need. It has a Nile dock which our guide used to get us to the west bank to save driving time. Pool/Sun complex is expensive, comfortable, and well equipped with endless beach chairs. Highly recommended to make this your base for touring Luxor.

This is an amazing hotel!!!! Clean, good food, shops, guest services, easy to walk around, great view. Its a must stay, you wont be disappointed. 5 star hotel all around.

Overall it was good. But the rooms and the property in general smell too much to cigarette. The staff at the reception weren't kind.

This was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. So much so that i already booked a few more nights. All staff were kind, courteous and very helpful.

FABULOUS HOTEL

We loved everything about this hotel: it is central and despite the fact that it can be extremely busy, it is efficient and never chaotic. It is beautiful in every respect and the room was amazing. The view from the breakfast room is to die for. Although there are building renovations close to the pool are, I would not have known about it if I did not actually go there. Wifi is shaky but the hotel is generous in their allocation and responsiveness. I was disappointed by two things though: the dirty table cloths and place-settings so messy in breakfast room (but the food is great) and Italian restaurant (where the food is awful). Still an absolutely superb hotel!

It was a lovely stay. We got upgrade to prestigious suite and the suite was fabulous. The location is also good. So, overall, fantastic stay.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times now. It is amazing, however on this recent stay building works we’re being carried out by the swimming pool area. It was quite disturbing as we were only there for a couple of days. I would still return for another stay.

Front desk staff were great, were able to check us in a day early on the spot. Guest relations desk was very helpful they were able to book for anything we asked! Room was really nice with an excellent shower/tub. Only one pool and it was small but we spent majority of our time exploring Luxor so it worked just fine. Our driver Saad was amazing, he even walked us into town and bought us Koshari 10/10 Id highly reccomend this hotel thank you!!
