This past weekend, I attended a Bachata Festival at the Westin, and it was an enjoyable experience. The staff was exceptional, but one manager stood out in particular. On the first night of the event, my room key stopped working just as I needed to rush to my next class. Despite the chaos of a packed check-in counter, she resolved the issue quickly and efficiently. Her remarkable contributions highlighted her extraordinary capabilities, making a significant difference during a hectic moment. I look forward to my next visit.
Muy bueno
It's was good
Nice hotel, needs improvements
Hotel is large and nice. Rooms are dated with older furniture and fixtures. Low water pressure in the shower and only warm water, not hot. Staff was friendly but unable to answer questions or respond to requests, such as requests for additional towels. Restaurant food is good, but service is very slow. It appears the entire hotel is understaffed.
It's a Westin so you know what you are getting right off. Hotel is very clean and the staff were top notch. Parking was very easy albeit not cheap. The hotel is located 100 yards from the subway and it's only 4 or 5 stops to the town center. It's a very nice hotel but not centrally located if you want to walk to the town, you will need to take the train, but it's very close and only a few Euro's to get you there. There's limited dining options around the hotel but there is a Paulaner restaurant located within the building which offers a great menu. It does close early though so be sure to get in before it closes. Would we stay here again? Yes. Very comfortable bed and very clean room. For guests that are driving it's a good spot to stay.
Great location and very nice hotel.
Lovely rooms, comfortable beds. Enjoyed the pool and sauna area.
Conceirge available to answer questions without bothering front desk
Good
Very nice hotel, top level breakfast and pool area. Highly recommended.
Lovely hotel, comfortable room, great breakfast and great pool & sauna
Westin Grand Munich is an excellent hotel. Rooms are great and spacious and the staff is friendly and helpful
It was not what I would expect of a Westin. My room had mold and they would not switch my room. No discount or anything for the nasty room.
Old hotel
The mattresses are sinking security lock was brokenwireless entry to the room wasnot functional... and many age issues are visible
Had 2 rooms at the Westin. One for me and one for my teens. The rooms were comfy and clean. Staff was amazing in all aspects. Biergarten was very nice and food was delicious. Pool and sauna were very nice. Only issue we experienced was the AC went out for a few hours, but that can hapoen anywhere so I dont ding the hotel at all for it
.
Not the usual hotel that I stay at in Munich, but clean, safe and overall suited my needs.
The first room I was given, had a broken mirror with scotch tape across it. I changed rooms but one sink we could not get to work. The bar is understaffed in even though I got two free drink vouchers for the trouble of changing rooms. I was never able to use them because the bar was full and one person working.
friendly staff.. pool and spa area is nice. Rooms are clean and well maintained.
We stayed here in Sept '24 in room 2203 in an Executive Room. Very clean and lots of room. We had use of the Executive Lounge and was surprised that we had booked for only Bed & Breakfast, only to find Evening Meal was also included. Breakfast had a good selection, but the Evening Meal not so much but was very nice and considered free to us as we had not booked or paid for it. The swimming pool was excellent with Jacuzzi, Steam Room and Sauna. Would we stay here again? Absolutely and will be recommending it to friends considering a stay in Munich.
Nothing “Grand” About this Hotel!
I travel extensively for business around the world. Westin has a standard for hotels in large international cities. This hotel falls well below that standard. Rooms were not ready on time and were not properly cleaned. The rooms are extremely dated, to the point of faulty. My shower was dirty. Staff were unhelpful, even rude. Westin needs a serious rethink when it comes to this hotel. There is more than a refresh needed, both in the rooms and quality of amenities, as well as the training given to staff.
The room needs a little upgrade. Pillows were disgusting stinky. Bathroom smells urine. Ask to replace pillowcases not happening. Crack glass closet door. Buffet is excellent other than that is an okay stay for 4 nights
Many services- a very beautiful looking hotel, even though high a bit older.
Lovely hotel and staff very courteous and helpful
Nice having a club lounge and also convenient facilities like a mini-market in the lobby. Some of the rooms are a bit dated and could do with a revamp. Pool is nice and open.
Timo was a dream employee. He made our stay extra special. The hotel was comfortable and delightful. It’s about 15 minutes away from the city center but I would definitely stay again.
The two nights we spent at this hotel were great. Location is amazing. Staff are great and very helpful with all our needs.
Breakfast was delicious Made to order omelettes!! Staff was lovely and very helpful. Would definitely stay again
Great stuff
Staff was very nice
Nice hotel
An All Star
Westin-level class as expected. Perfect location, close tot the city. Indoor pool with jacuzzi, super nice.
Smart, clean hotel a little outside of the city centre but with a metro close at hand and only a 10min ride to the city
Very nice spa and convenient facilities if do not have energy to go out in city centre , like bar are to watch football Euro 24, heathland menu option. Bavarian food downstairs is overpriced and staff was not helpful with booking a table, maybe they didn’t understand English. Also for water in the room had to ask twice , they seemed giving you only once set of supplements instead of 2 for 3 guests . Didn’t had breakfast at the property as it seems overpriced especially if you on diet
We ate in their dining room the first night. One meal was not edible due to being overcooked to being burned. The staff and Manager were understanding and very kind ond poiite. They did not charge us for that meal. A succor match was being played for guests of the hotel and it was extremely noisy. We understand the enthusiam of the other guests though.
Far from the airport and the hostoric center, but there is a subway line 4 min walk from the hotel
Good service Good restaurants
Water flow in shower was rather weak and temperature was difficult to adjust due to an old system of plumbing. I stayed in a hostel and 2 more cheap hotel (one third that of this hotel) no issues at all with both the flow and temperature, their systems were up to date, even their facilities look a bit cheap and shower experience was much more satisfying. Another issue is a lady front desk who do check-in. She asked me to step aside so that she could finish with the checkout of the person behind me who she knew even I had been on the line for 5 minutes or so. It should be by queue, not by easy way to finish work. This is unacceptable and not professional. I would stay Away from this hotel. You can find a newer hotel, cheaper, and more pleasant to stay. This hotel is a bit far from the old town too. If it was not for the congress I would rather stay somewhere close to the old town.
Service has been cut. No paper pads, no menu, no TV channels. Everything is online only.
The room smelled smokey, had stains on the furniture and carpets and generally felt like it was due for a refresh. The staff were helpful and switched us to a new room, which smelled better and had fewer stains but still did not live up to the Westin Grand standards we are used to. The property was a bit isolated but just a $16 euro taxi ride to town.
Loved the gym and pool area. Felt very clean and open not stuffy like other hotels.
Liked that was within easy walking distance to public transport especially the underground trains from where you can be anywhere. Concierge team were very helpful.
Bar & Restaurants were all good.
Very nice
The hotel is huge. Staff was 10/10 !!! The hotel breakfast was delicious which is super convenient!
Little things
Very helpful staff, restaurant was delicious in the lobby. The curtains would bot close and were half hanging down off the clips on one side and the sinks would not drain, but the lobby staff was informed and hopefully it got fixed. The front lobby staff were super sweet. We were there on Christmas day and one of the ladies gave us two chocolate Christmas trees as a gift.
Quality accommodations in Arabellapark. Walking distance to English Garden and other areas of interest. Conveniently located near public transit. Staff was helpful and kind, especially when many of us were stranded due to a blizzard. Grateful i booked here!
Large comfortable rooms with separate shower and bathtub. Wonderful breakfast with a very friendly and helpful staff. You are able to buy local train tickets at concierge desk which makes life easier.
Very friendly staff, comfy bed! Spa was very relaxing, overall a great time away, Had everything you could need or want!
Amazing facility, really great staff, quiet area. Our room was on the 15th floor providing an amazing view of the city and beautiful sunsets. I will definitely stay there again..
I have stayed at this property and would again especially for Oktoberfest since it is on the same U line. The staff and common areas good including the breakfast. The rooms are dated. The room I was in had multiple stains on the carpet and so much mold in the shower. If they update the rooms this would be the perfect hotel for an easy stay in Munich.
Clean place. Breakfast Buffet is off the chain! Nice dining options & Bar. Only a 2 block walk from the U-Bahn station, to get anywhere in Munich. My only complaint is there is not actually a hot tub "as advertised on Expedia", only a jetted area in the regular pool. Otherwise, great experience.
Large opulent common areas in hotel but once you get to rooms it changes. Mold in shower. No regular housekeeping, not even towels and coffee without asking daily. Then still not done and had to wait in bar for hour for what was supposed to be housekeeping. But all they did was leave towels and 2 packets of coffee. Expected more for $500 per night. Front desk staff was apologetic each day but we had a 4 night stay and the room was never serviced without asking each day and then once not even after asking. Food poisoning last day. Only ate at breakfast buffet and hotel restaurant.
It was comfortable stay. What else I would want!
Came here for a business conference with my spouse. Great location- safe-quite with nice lobby & breakfast. However, very poor rating on maintenance and very poor customer service response. Simple example 1. Toilet flush stopped working at about 6 pm with constant leak when we got back to room after day long outing & tired. Tried calling front desk & service for nearly 30 minutes from room to inform. Finally front desk picked up and said they are sending someone to fix it. Nobody came until morning while we went to bed early. Again called in the morning. None showed up for several hours. Personally, went to desk and in a long line to before I could tell the same thing. Meanwhile, we had to use outside toilet in the lobby. It was surely terrible. Finally they attended & fixed it in the morning. The flush again stooped working and leaking in the late evening. Went down to get the service. In room phone simply donot work. 2. The A/C in rooms stops cooling for few hours past mid night on all four nights we stayed. Perhaps, they cycle it due to too much heat load and insufficient power capacity. Hotel did not compensate for all the agony we went through. It is surely an iconic hotel with great location and amenities. But many things don't work. We found out that there are many better options in the area with lower price than this one charging ~250 Euros/night as a special conference rate.
Lovely quiet location, only 5 minute walk to the ubahn, beautiful room and lovely view
We had 2 riooms. 1 room was not cleaned still had dirty towels in the room and the room had a broken mirror, stained carpet. Rooms in general are a bit rundown. The beds were comfortable. Went there because of the Westin/Marriott quality and was very disappointed.
Nice hotel but only cold pool and bubble section in spa - hoped for sauna. Outdoor area noisy with traffic. Rooms have a bit out-dated furnishings with too soft pillows. Good sized rooms and great breakfast. Hotel bar rather pricey for spirits.
Perfect stay
AC does not adequately cool some rooms, which management acknowledges. Freeze-dried room coffee from a kettle should be an embarrassment at a four star hotel. Positives: welcoming front desk. Considerate and understanding management when issues made known. Large and inviting lobby. Reasonably authentic Paulaner inside outside beer garden looks appealing but not well attended. No restaurants of appeal or pleasant surroundings areas due to neighborhood location about 5 miles from Marienplatz, but only 3 minute walk to U bahn direct line to city center. Rooms are large with dim lighting but bright baths. No American TV channels. Excellent soundproofing but no USB adapters in 40 year old property so bring your own round pin adapter. Hotel management can inexpensively resolve this essential need. Hotel has issues but positives and rates usually below other four star hotels in city center earn a recommendation
A perfect location, wonderful staff and customer service. Great Biergarten and food, very clean and orderly hotel. Breakfast buffet is outstanding! I would stay there again, anytime when in Munich!!
'Grand' is appropriate , spacious and great amenities ! Down comforters abit to warm, even with AC on.
Ver nice and clean
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean modern and spacious. Area was very quiet.
Great amenities & excellent breakfast buffet. Like most locations in Munich, transportation is easy to obtain near the facility.
The staff was super friendly, rooms were awesome, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
Location
This is my 8 years I came to the same place and to the same hotel i I feel comfortable safe They have nice staff
Everyone was great except concierge desk. I want them to give us recommendations for restaurants for new years eve, which they gave us 5 then, they said they were all booked. I called and got a reservation at 1 of the restaurants they said were booked. We asked them about a rent a car they said due to the holidays they were sold out. I went online within 5 minutes and booked my own rent a car. I called multiple times down to the concierge desk and they were friendly just unhelpful. I've used the concierge desk many places to recommend dinners and the like, however we were very disappointed in the service. The level of service at this hotel needs to be better.
It was a short stay
Overbooked, too many people at the same time, hard to find a empty table to eat
Everything was perfect and staff was very friendly and helpful
The pool and spa area was very nice.
It was a nice property and friendly staff
The Hotel is in a great location close to the Underground station making it very accessible. The Staff is great, very nice and polite. The neighborhood is very quite and clean.
Everything about this hotel was very nice. Staff was super friendly. The only negative is the grout in the shower needed to be scrubbed. Easy fix with a brush and cleaner.
BAD SERVICE. RECOMMENDATION..DO NOT STAY THERE.
Staff was Unfriendly and Rude all the Time. Terrible Service . IT was like They just Didn't Want to Help You.
nice common areas and pool area but the rooms are very old and compact. Rooms and bathrooms are like a dorm room and the showers are tiny. They need to do a full renovation of the rooms, but overall ok, nothing special. I do not think i would stay there again unless I really have to.
Not the best value for money
Nice hotel but expensive for what you get. Check in was slow; rooms are average; good shower; no mini bar; paper cups in the room; beds were comfy; quiet; room was right temperature;
Staff very friendly and helpful, although a bit understaffed. Very clean and organized
Great business trip stay
Great spa and gym
Still a great hotel after all these years
Great hotel. Good value.
Excellent all round. Very helpful staff. Room very clean and comfortable bed. Good amenities.
Great visit and was happy with the staff and property but it always aggregates me to have to pay for parking. It should be shown up front and not after you book the reservation.
Ok hotel nice employees ready to help
The personal is very nice, trying to help. The internet is not free which is not very 2021 :) The first room I had was kind of oldish and not very nice. After one night we changed the room to a lower floor and it was a lot better.
Nice Hotel
Very nice stay , Really nice hotel with friendly staff. Has a nice SPA & Gym in the basement. Close to highway and an underground station with direct line to the city centre. Some fairly decent restaurants nearby the hotel.
Great experience!
Professional, high standard.
The hotel is wonderful we stayed for two nights the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is lovely and have a lot of variety. The room is in a good size. The location is very convenient and in a nice area.
Amazing hotel Food and service outstanding Great lounge
I made a mistake booking in this hotel as some of the staff of the hotel were not able to meet the level of professionalism The Westin hotels possess.
This hotel is truly a five star quality establishment!
Nice location with good parking, however hotel is a bit old. SPA is Ok
Clean. Close to U and other modes of transportation. Close to English Gardens.
$60 euros per night for a roll away bed.
Great location on the u-bahn and easy access to the wiesen during Oktoberfest. The hotel lobby, bar and spa are great, but the rooms are outdated for sure. Most days we did not get coffee replenished and missing some amenities like shore caps.
Lovely hotel choice for Munich - absolutely Westin
This is really a wonderful grand hotel, although a little old, but nevertheless its been continuously been renovated time and again, and the best part is their service levels, so overall it makes for a great stay.. its expensive but I felt it was worth all the money.. located in a fairly central location - a short taxi ride away (not more than around 10 to 15 euro) to the absolute centre / interesting areas / English Garden (esp SeeHaus restaurant).. rooms are reasonably large, comfortable, spacious bathrooms, great levels of service, great spread of breakfast, and overall a great and enjoyable experience.. so what more could one ask for.. I had got a city facing room (any room above level 10 is great, as u get a great, panoramic, un-obstructed view of the city) from which u can see as far as the eye can see - very enjoyable.. only a slight blemish - with regards to my check out, but that shod not spoil an otherwise great stay.. I loved it overall.. expect to see a lot of airline crew but that shod hardly bother u.. its surely a great hotel choice..
Rude not hospitable from the cleaning ladies, to the front desk folks, the dining room and everyone in between.Stated some things they do are "house rules" which means they dont honor loyalty members. Do NOT book on Expedia if you want to be treated with any dignity. Only if you book directly with them then they see you are worth there while. Very outdated rooms, stained carpets, bad bathroom tiles holes and culk in a lot of the tiles. Had to switch rooms because there was red stains on the sheets (they stated it was maybe red wine) and hair in the bathroom looks like it was washed with a dirty rag.
