Service is outstanding. Rooms very comfortable. Convenient access to Copacabana Beach.
Looking a little tired
We enjoyed two nights at this grande dame which is looking a little tired. Excellent service throughout but its faded glamour does not live up to its reputation. We took an informative tour of the hotel but the hallway of fame is very underwhelming. Only a handful of famous guests are actually photographed at the hotel itself and no dates are given for when they stayed. We are now at the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas in Iguazu which by comparison is absolutely incredible. Plush furnishings, beautiful gardens, choice of 3 restaurants open each day and just as excellent service.
Lovely property in the best location on the beach
We loved the employees. Everyone from the front desk people, concierge desk, the wait staff and the chamber maids. Everyone is friendly and professional. The hotel is very clean and tidy. It would be nice if the ATM machine had smaller bills than 100.
Everything perfect, albeit expensive.
Excellent location. Safe area. Great for shopping area, restaurants and bars. Brilliant concierge services to help with all bookings, advice and guidance. We paid to upgrad our room to one with a full sea view and large balcont as we were staying for 6 days.
Staff is defiantly 5 star here!
This place was AMAZING! Everyone is very helpful and service is impeccable. Hotel staff definitely can make great recommendations for local 5star dining in Rio. If you have young children, they will love it as well. Sad to leave and will be back again!!!!!!
Great
The staff was exceptional and made my birthday and first time stay in Brazil very memorable, especially the front desk agent who checked me in.
Great hotel excellent staff.
The customer service at Copacabana Palace is unbeatable. My family and I became good friends with several of the staff members. They truly make you feel like a celebrity at their property. Everyone is so helpful, welcoming, kind and quick. We will absolutely be back here again- cannot recommend enough!
Relax and enjoy the view.
The hotel is classically beautiful with its spacious rooms, colourfully and tastefully decorated. I'm not surprised many celebrities have stayed there! The bed is super comfortable and the blackout blinds left all the day light outside so we could have a nice lie in the next morning. The hotel is super clean and tidy. They offer you a glass of champagne upon arrival making you feel very welcomed. The staff are really friendly and helpful, they go an extra mile to ensure you're satisfied. The pool area is just gorgeous with the colourful parasols contrasting with the pure white of the building around it! Very romantic. The location is wonderful, you just have to cross the road to be at the iconic Copacabana beach. It was throughout a fantastic experience and we'd love to be back again soon.
First class
Staff, service, experience is exemplary- Bernardo, Israel, the concierge team, staff by the pool, room service are all dedicated to making the stay exceptional. Moreover, they do it with care, kindness and with subtleness. This is the second Belmond experience and it is highly recommended!
Wonderful and fun hotel. Well situated in Copacabana.
Copacabana Palace is absolutely beautiful! The restaurants serve delicious food. I loved the pool, brunch, and beautiful hotel room with a balcony. I'll be back soon!
Amazing
Had a suite, carpet near AC unit remained wet. They seem to know about the issue, didn’t care. Kinda weird.
Copacabana Palace a perfect getaway with oceanfront views and access to beach.
The interior finishes are getting a bit tired, but the exceptional service and wonderful restaurants make that irrelevant. The breakfast buffet is beyond compare.
The guest services here are amazing - organising tours, trips, restaurants, they are so knowledgeable and thoughtful. The hotel is great - lots of facilities and things to do in and around the hotel.
One of the best hotel experiences we ever had. Property is beautiful and the staff is excellent and warm. Definitely recommend.
The Copacabana Place is one of my favorite hotels and I am not exaggerating. Our family has traveled in most regions of the world and I can say that they are top 3 period. The staff is amazing and our stay was outstanding. Beatrice at the front desk, Victor and Reginald in the restaurant …. I could go on and on. We be back for sure !!! @chef_john3 in Instagram!!!
Best hotel service I ever had
Dated and impractical - stickers covering windows
Booked an oceanfront deluxe room but unfortunately the windows were very small and half of them were covered with coloured stickers (which I later learned was part of an art exhibit - what a huge miss! Impeding the views and light of paying guests for an art exhibition). This made the room feel very dark and outdated. Spent a couple of hours by the pool during peak sun from 1-3 pm but there was no sun as the buildings blocked it. We were freezing despite it being 27 degrees. The few sunny chairs were occupied by someone’s dogs. I watched a video on the website that made the hotel look vibrant, energetic and alive which is why we booked, but in reality it felt dated, impractical and a huge disappointment for being the most expensive spot in Rio. When I mentioned my concerns to the front desk they told me I should give them another chance and book again this time getting a pool view room as the windows are bigger and didn’t have any coloured stickers on them. I don't think that is an appropriate response. Based on our experience I would suggest staying at other hotels - our friends stayed at the Fasano and loved it.
Wonderful. Top notch service
Everything was perfect and staff is amazing
Awesome
First class hotel and first class service. The best hotel in Rio de Janeiro that I’ve experienced
What else can you say? It's the best.
Excellent!
What a gorgeous property yet vintage with all the modern appeal.
Very professional
Can not be better. Attention is given at the smallest detail. The hotels’ standards are absolutely top . The service is impeccable. Amazing professionals from tje reception to the concierge to the restaurants. And restaurants are incredible. This is one 3 best hotels we have stayed our of 95 countries we have visited.
The Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I felt very safe staying at this hotel. The beach experience was amazing.
Awesome hotel. Loved our stay. Pool, bar, gym and spa are fabulous. Wonderful room. Excellent facilities. Service and details are thoughtful and well considered. Star lovely but not many speak English.
Must stay
Absolutely amazing hotel with biggest pool in RDJ. The staff and at every position goes beyond to help the customer and we really appreciate how welcome they made us feel. There is not a single request that is every not given 150% attention and so polite helpful people. Rooms are great and girls loved the pool/ocean view. We recommend this to everyone.
it is a great place to stay. The only disappointment we had throughout the stay was the lack of proper AC in the gala party organized for the carnival. Hard to understand why they would not invest in some additional equipment for such a great & expensive event.
Nice and clean hotel. Wish there was a little more to do. Besides restaurant are good and enjoyable. Most of the staff is nice and friendly. Leo at check in was amazing and went above and beyond for our kids and gave us a very sweet welcome to the hotel and Brazil!
Very disappointed that check in was at 4:00 pm I paid almost 1,000 dollars that’s not acceptable that you can’t check in early.
excellent and exceedded our expectations Raining day and power and internet was going out all the time
Unique
Perfect facilities, charming staff, amazing food, And wonderful tours-one of the best hotels i have stayed in among many around the world! Only disappointment was Cipriani for Christmas Dinner- Bravo!
Grand old property that maybe sometimes relies a little on its history and heritage to see it through a little too much but we had a good stay and staff were friendly. Dinner at Mee was a highlight.
5-star service and amazing experience
Impeccable service, best hotel in Rio. I am originally from Brazil and grew up coming to Rio, but it’s safe to say the Copacabana Palace Will provide a unique experience different than anything you’ve ever encountered. Worth the price!
Phenomenal and a dream stay
Fantastic hotel in which the staff are superb, being professional and helpful.
Amazing hotel. Once in a lifetime sort of hotel. Area around hotel is very rough. Uber works fine.
Guest services were excellent. The hotel was located in a beautiful historic building which greatly increased the appeal.
A amazing door men Luciano
Undoubtedly, the best hotel in the town, legendary, iconic, impeccable rooms, unforgettable hospitality… Actors, sport stars, royalty, presidents, prime ministers, billionaires … all stayed there. The hotel celebrated its centenary in August 2023. It is pricey but still, if you could afford, do book a room with ocean view at least for one night - that will definitely make your trip to Rio a very special one. Very high quality facilities on one hand but nothing superspecial one the other hand but still a very special experience. Breakfasts, swimming pool and other facilities are very good. Do visit their bars and restaurants in the evening, another good, although not superspecial, experience. Personally, did like the pool bar and Cipriani restaurant, did not like much food in Mee restaurant though. Concierges are very helpful, did help me with directions, even organised a tennis class, helped to liaise with a good travel agent etc. Good business centre, all small office related needs could be fixed in there. Exchange bureau rates are not so good, just go for better rates to the street behind the hotel. The area is safe overall, this is the centre of Copacabana. Forget crime stereotypes. Obviously, be discreet and reasonable, look around and do not hold your mobile and wallet in hands when close to the road, keep them away especially from bikers, normally in your pockets. Overall, one night stay in the hotel was one of the highlights of my stay in Rio. Really enjoyable. Thanks.
This was our 9th stay at the hotel … as always everything was fabulous from the moment we checked in to when we checked out. We always like to stay in the main building and the hotel puts in one of our preferred rooms and remember all our preferences even down to leaving their famous brigadero hand made truffles in the room… Breakfast is a delicious experience as is the Sunday brunch. We spent all the time round the wonderful pool - the Copacabana is the only hotel that has a large swimming pool at ground level. Everyone looks glamorous, a stark difference to when you leave the hotel to explore the city, when you take watches, jewellery and designer bags …anything that draws attention to one as Rio can be a little unsafe when it comes to tourists…that aside Rio is the most amazing city and people are vibrant and friendly. All the staff at the hotel go the extra mile when it comes to service and friendliness. There is only one hotel to stay at in Rio … The Copacabana Palace.
Extremely well run hotel! The staff was exemplary, the food was incredibly delicious and certainly see why it is the pride of Rio de Janeiro!! I will stay here again!
Highly Recommend! Top Notch Service & Staff
My husband and I stayed at Copacabana Palace for 7 nights, and if our schedules had allowed us we would've stayed another week more! We can't express how incredible everything was during out stay. From the twice a day housekeeping service for our suite, to the wonderful check-in, check-out and concierge staff, to Ulrich and the door staff being so welcoming and helpful, to Eduardo, the incredible the bell man who made us feel so special with every interaction and even went above and beyond for us every day, to the very knowledgable young man, Marcus, who gave an interesting tour of the history of the hotel, to Fabio's hospitality at the pool, to Carlos (the beach masseuse), Bill and the rest of the awesome beach service staff who made our week so relaxing and fun! The attention to detail, hospitality, service, helpfullness from everyone is superb and unlike any other 5 stars in the world. Thank you!!! We will be back again.
Wonderful and memorable stay !
Amazing stay at Copacabana
A big standing ovation to the entire staff at the Copacabana Palace for their outstanding customer service. They are the friendliest and kindest staff, always ready to please their guests with a heartfelt smile. From the perfectly and elegantly decorated rooms, to the stunning lobby, the delicious food, to the iconic pool and traditions that go back 100 years, this is the place to be in Rio. There is no hotel like it so don’t think twice. It will be a memorable stay and you will want to come back time and time again. We have been staying at the Copa for many years during our trips to Rio and the experience always blows our expectations. It is always hard to leave and we look forward to coming back!
Service, room, staff, food all amazing
100 years to perfection!! I will be back! 👍👍
This elegant and classic hotel is impeccable in every aspect. The pool is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Breakfast was amazing as was everybody in the staff. Thank you to all of them for making this a memorable stay.
Best Hotel innRip
Always amazing. Incredible hotel. I’ve stayed there three times. Can’t say enough good things
Helpful staff
It had lots of history and beautiful. The staff was outstanding they catered to everyone.
The hotel was great ,staff was excellent and they take care of their customers.
Simply a wonderful hotel at the heart of Copacabana. We can’t wait to return!
Tive honest, Thai hotel was a huge disappointment. Staff is amazing. Extremely friendly. They do have some perks but the hotel is not that good. The pool has pretty no sun as there are buildings around that create shadow. Beach chairs and towels are a plus. They do give water at the beach too.
Stunning property with amazing service!
The Palace consistently delivers a 5 Star experience
Rude people don’t like at all
Great place to stay ! Excellent staff. Anderson concierge was the best !
Excellent Hotel
Excellent hotel, old school
Beautiful property - reminiscent of the elegant hotels of the 40’s and 50’s. Staff very polite, went iut of their way to provide exceptional service. The rooms are beautiful. All in all a 5/5 experience!
Property is beautiful, but does need some updating. The “bones” of the hotel are great, but common areas (e.g., carpets) and elevators need updates, as did the bathroom of the room we stayed in. Ate at Pergola and Cipriani. Service is good, but we did feel as though some guests were singled out for particular care. There was a Vogue event at the hotel during our stay and lots of local celebrities (mostly local soap stars) that seemingly took all of the attention. Cipriani was weak compared to NY and Miami locations, but service was as attentive. Hotel is in Copacabana which is not as “safe” as Ipanema. I was robbed across the street from the hotel after a morning run, but there are plenty of doormen and security at the hotel itself. Hotel is a throwback to 60s jetsetter aesthetic, and it is clear Belmond (new proprietor) is leveraging that. However, the hotel clearly needs upgrades. If your standards are 5-star US/Europe you should consider looking elsewhere like staying at Fasano or some other location on Ipanema.
The attention and the staff are beyond expectations. Great pool and nice dinning options in the hotel.
Very conginial and warm welcome, staff was polite and friendly at the same time. Especially Clara who was very helpful. Beautiful property.
i like everything.the next time my wife a tour around the facility
Excellent
Excellent servics
Faded jewel in Rio
Old outdated hotel that’s trying to live in the past. This hotel is a fast fading star. For a 5 star hotel the service is very poor and the hotel very outdated . No good internet , usb sockets that don’t work and a better experience can be had at a mc Donald’s for breakfast service . There are staf everywhere but don’t seen to get the basics correct M every time you leave you room the toilet paper in re folded to a triangle yet thetes no water available in the room , or mini bar . Best avoid this hotel if you are looking for a modern 5 star. It’s a unique hotel that’s past it’s sell by date .
A historic hotel in the Belmond portfolio.
Fabulous Hotel, great atmos-phere, first class facilities, what is there not to like? A classic.
Everyone was so nice and if you needed help they where there wonderful restaurant staff 🌹
Excellent service, very clean and maintained.
Excellent!
great and cheap
Everything
I have stayed at the Palace several times now and it never disappoints. The level of service and attention to details is unmatched. A true 5 star experience at a 5 star hotel.
Excellent hotel and would stay here again! It is what you expect from a Belmond hotel!
This was one of the most beautiful properties we have ever stayed it! Everything was 5 Stars!!
Exceptional!
Exceptional all the way around!!
Muito bom
iconic property. great staff
The property is fabulous if you like that old copa vibes. Not modern but definitely boogie in its own ways. The room amenities is above average with nespresso coffee, waters and chocolates at turn down service, his/hers Havaiana slippers, nice thick towels, silky bedsheets, reall comfortable pillows and a big walk in closet. It’s got a nice spa, pool and Michelin star restaurants. Couldn’t have asked for more. Except don’t get an avenue view suite. There’s two balconies but no view. You get view of the dirty streets. Service by the way is above par. We requested 4pm check out no problem.
Top service and attention and kindness
Highly recommend
This was hands-down the finest hotel experience either my wife or I have had. Everything- services, facilities- was excellent.
The staff was great friendly and very helpful. This was the first time there and it was amazing. The staff treat us movie stars. It was a great experience. I will definitely come back and tell all my friends
Best hotel
Everything was perfect. The service was top notch. Beautiful rooms. Delicious food. Very high class
Excellent property with a lot of character. Staff goes above and beyond to help, the food is excellent. Don’t have anything negative to say
Food service at their restaurant was slow and food was just not well made. Overall not worth the hype. I moved to the Fairmont and so far significantly better and much cheaper.
